STAINLESS STEEL OUTLETS – SA182 – 3,000 LBS & 6,000 LBS
Highest Quality Material
We have stainless steel outlets available in 240, 304, 304L, 316, 316L, and other materials that meet or exceed ASME SA182 standards to ensure you have the highest quality material to handle your products.
Grades
The “L” after the number grade designates a lower Carbon content. Lowering the Carbon content will slightly reduce the strength of the steel but will also minimize carbide precipitation during welding – which means the weld joint will degrade slower for 304L than 304.
304 stainless steel will contain approximately 8% to 10% Chromium, while 316 stainless will contain 10% to 14%, and will also contain molybdenum. 316 will be more corrosion resistant and stronger than 304 but can also be more expensive.

What is Stainless Steel?
Stainless steel is common name for a family of alloy steels which typically contain 10% to 30% Chromium (Cr). Chromium is a hard metal that is used to increase corrosion resistance and strength of steel that has a lower Carbon content.
There are several different types and grades of stainless steel available throughout industry, but the most commonly used are 304, 304L, 316, and 316L.
